NZMMAF Inspector’s Course
Who is it for?
Anyone interested in the protocols surrounding the sport of MMA, the back stage processes, and the preparation for fighters and coaching teams at a MMA event.
Pre-requisites:
An interest in the sport of MMA and MMA Officiation
Fit and able to be able to walk fighter’s to and from cageside, carrying equipment.
Be able to converse and communicate effectively with fighters, coaches, and other officials.
Outcomes:
Introduction to the Inspector Role within MMA Officiation
Certification to act as an Inspector at NZMMAF supported MMA events.
NZMMAF Judges Course
Who is it for?
Potential Judges, and/or those looking to progress to the role of referee
Fighters and/or fight teams wanting to know how best to meet judging expectations.
Media, commentators, promoters, fans wanting to gather greater knowledge of the sport of MMA and the application of the Unified Rules.
Pre-requisites:
An interest of the sport of MMA
Comprehensive awareness of the positions, submissions, and techniques utilised in a MMA bout.
Previously attended NZMMAF Inspectors Course
Fundamental understanding of basic mathematics
(Mandatory for those pursuing certification). In addition to above:
Prior knowledge of the ABC Unified Rules, and the NZMMAF Amateur Rule sets, as they apply to judging.
Knowledge covered in the Inspector course that has relevance to the role of Judge may be tested
Outcomes:
An appreciation of how to implement the Scoring criteria, and the elements of scoring under the NZMMAF endorsed rulesets.
For those passing examination – Certification to be able to seek the opportunity to work as a judge at NZMMAF supported events
